Biography

Mike Royal is a partner in the Dallas office. He has more than 20 years of experience representing regional, national and international clients in multiparty complex and class action litigation in state and federal court (specifically addressing wage & hour and discrimination issues), as well as single party litigation matters involving claims related to wrongful discharge, whistle blowing, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employment-related torts, trade secrets and noncompetition agreements.

Mike develops personal relationships with his clients that enable him to identify their legal and business objectives and to advance their positions in a creative, efficient and persuasive manner.

In addition to his considerable litigation practice, Mike routinely counsels employers on compliance with various state and federal employment laws.

Mike is one of the founders of the Fisher & Phillips International Employment Law Practice Group and regularly represents multinational companies in cross-border and international employment law issues and disputes.

Mike is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, recognizing his adherence to the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct.

Obtained a temporary injunction on behalf of a Fortune 500 international brokerage company against two former employees who resigned to join a competing business and thereafter unlawfully solicited the clients of the brokerage company. Disability. Obtained summary judgment in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas on behalf of a Fortune 100 international retail organization in a case involving allegations of disability discrimination. Gender, Equal Pay. Tried to a defense verdict in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas a suit filed against a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company involving claims of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and violation of the Equal Pay Act. Obtained summary judgment in a multi-plaintiff suit filed against a Fortune 100 retail company in a state court case involving claims of disability discrimination, violation of the FMLA and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Age, Retaliation. Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a Fortune 100 retailer in a state court case involving claims of age discrimination and retaliation. Inevitable Disclosure.
