Professional Experience Mike Shea represents companies in commercial disputes and class actions, including antitrust, unfair trade practice, and insurance cases, as well as in antitrust and health care investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and state attorneys general. Mike also represents municipalities and non-profit organizations in First Amendment matters. Mike has also represented corporations and individuals in grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions of health care fraud, bank fraud and other federal offenses. Mike serves as chair of the firm's Appellate practice group and has argued twenty civil and criminal appeals, including in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate courts. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for both antitrust law and appellate practice, and in New England and Connecticut Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in New York for appellate practice. Before joining the firm, Mike practiced U.S. and EC antitrust law in Washington, D.C., and Brussels, Belgium. He has published articles on antitrust, appellate practice, and white-collar criminal defense in The National Law Journal, Business Law Today, The New York Law Journal, Legal Times, The Hartford Courant, Connecticut Law Tribune, and other publications. Mike served as law clerk to The Honorable James L. Buckley, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, 1993-1994.
