Michael Kiesling's practice involves assisting California developers and commercial landowners in achieving creative and cost-effective solutions to real estate disputes. Mr. Kiesling has experience litigating and arbitrating disputes involving purchase and sale agreements, commercial lease agreements, construction defects and delays, and title disputes.
Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Kiesling worked in Sempra Energy's Office of the General Counsel, where he focused on litigation.
Recent Work / Representative Matters
Between 2008 and 2010, Mr. Kiesling served as a member of a litigation team prosecuting $30 million in construction defect and delay claims arising from the renovation of a boutique hotel.
Between 2007 and 2010, Mr. Kiesling assisted multiple developer clients in recovering an aggregate total of over $5 million in monies advanced as deposits on new residential condominium units that buyers contracted to purchase and later refused to close on.
In March 2009, Mr. Kiesling assisted a developer client in obtaining a defense award in an arbitration involving claims that the purchase of a luxury residential condominium unit had been procured by fraud. The award prevented the client from having to take back the unit at a significant market loss.
