Michael Rosiello is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg LLP, resident in the Indianapolis, Indiana office where he is a member of the Litigation Department and co-chair of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on commercial disputes, including contracts, sale of goods, trade secret, and class action issues. Mr. Rosiello also represents clients in trust and probate litigation. He works on pretrial proceedings, trials, and appeals in both state and federal courts. In addition, Mr. Rosiello's practice includes drafting effective documents designed to avoid litigation, including sale-of-goods forms such as warranties, disclaimers, and remedy limitations, and labor agreements such as trade secret agreements and covenants not to compete. Since 1998, Mr. Rosiello has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America®, and he has been named one of the "Indiana Super Lawyers" by Indianapolis Monthly Magazine. He is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations, the State Bar of California, and the Bar Association for the 7th Circuit. Mr. Rosiello lectures on contracts and sales for the Indianapolis Bar Association Bar Review Course and serves on the faculty of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum's Trial Advocacy Skills College. Mr. Rosiello has co-authored three Indiana Law Review articles on recent developments in Indiana law. He is a founding Master in the Sagamore American Inn of Court, and has participated in the preparation of two national award-winning programs. Mr. Rosiello has worked on agency relations matters for the United Way of Central Indiana for many years and is currently a member of the United Way Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as well as the Community Planning and Research Committee, which he chairs. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Rosiello served as president of the board of directors of the Sycamore School. Mr. Rosiello is currently a member of the board of directors of the Hope Academy, an Indianapolis Charter School. In 1973, Mr. Rosiello received an A.B. summa cum laude in economics from Columbia University and he was awarded a J.D. from Stanford University Law School in 1976. He joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 1976 and became a partner in 1983. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, California (inactive), the Northern District of Indiana, the Southern District of Indiana, and the 7th Circuit.
