Mike is a litigator whose practice involves representing financial institutions, corporations and insurance companies in a broad array of contested issues including securities law, lender liability and class actions. Within the past three years, Mike has defended clients in actions involving alleged violations of consumer protection and unfair business practices statutes, breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation claims. In addition, Mike has significant experience representing clients in securities disputes, including disputes involving allegations of securities fraud, failure to disclose material information, false disclosures, breaches of fiduciary duty and negligence
Notable Experience
· Representing a major financial institution against multibillion-dollar claims brought by an institutional investor in connection with the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities by means of allegedly untrue statements.
· Served as a Special Assistant District Attorney and tried over a dozen jury cases to verdict.
· Obtained dismissal of two class actions brought against a financial institution in the wake of the Bernard Madoff scandal.
· Successfully defended financial institutions against lender liability claims in federal and state court.
