Ms. Fox joined the firm in August 2010 to coordinate and manage the national single plaintiff litigation for firm's consumer financial clients. For the past 20+ years, she has practiced in commercial litigation, representing a variety of businesses and creditors while in private practice, as general counsel for a small auto finance company, and serving for the Missouri Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division.
Ms. Fox has devoted her legal career to defending and protecting the interests of financial services and commercial enterprises against consumer protections claims, as well as counseling clients in proactive account receivable measures, litigation avoidance, collections and asset recovery.
She also provides counsel and critical analysis regarding the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau's ever-changing panoply of consumer protection laws, and helps to prepare clients for potential examinations and enforcement actions from the CFPB and/or state regulators.
Ms. Fox was recently appointed to the UMKC Chancellor's LGBT Council to continue the development and enhance the relationship between UMKC and the Kansas City LGBT community. She also serves as an Ambassador and MasterMinds Co-Chair for Mid-America Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
As a member of the first class in the (former Mayor Kay) Barnes Leadership Series, Michelle continues to develop her leadership, management and professional skills. She serves as the president of her home owners association, and is an active volunteer for the local libraries, Special Olympics, and the Heartland Men's Chorus.
Ms. Fox is licensed to practice in the state, federal, and bankruptcy courts of Missouri and Kansas.
