Michelle O'Daniels is an attorney who works in Zaunbrecher Treadaway's Metairie office. Her practice primarily includes property and casualty insurance litigation, insurance defense and coverage claims, business litigation, products liability claims, and personal injury litigation. Ms. O'Daniels has extensive experience in environmental coverage claims in the context of both land-based and maritime pollution matters. Additionally, Ms. O'Daniels specializes in maritime liens, attachments and collections, including vessel arrests and cargo attachment.
Ms. O'Daniels attended Creighton University and graduated with highest honors with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance). She attended Tulane University School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Maritime Law in 1994. In her final year at law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and worked as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Charles Schwartz, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Upon graduation, she worked as a law clerk to Honorable Kosta Vlahos, Senior Circuit Judge for Hancock and Harrison Counties in Mississippi.
She has been licensed to practice in all state courts of Louisiana since 1994, and was admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana since 1995. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has been a member of the Louisiana Bar Association since 1994 and a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States since 1997.
She has served as legal counsel to the Mississippi Valley Trade and Transport Council since 2001 and volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in St. Charles Parish.
