Michiru Takahashi has considerable experience in intellectual property, focusing primarily on patent, trademark, unfair competition, and copyright issues, including infringement litigation and trademark prosecution. She represents multinational clients in a wide variety of areas, including cosmetics, medical devices, video games, electronics, consumer products, and entertainment.
As a lead counsel, Michiru represented Mag Instrument, Inc. in connection with its victory at the Intellectual Property High Court on the registration of the Mini Maglite 3-D trademark.
She also has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, including licensing and distributorship agreements. In addition, she frequently advises clients on privacy and data security issues, including development of internal policies and measures against privacy breach cases.
Michiru is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association, the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and the International Trademark Association.
