Mindy S. Novick is a Shareholder in Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Ms. Novick's practice covers the spectrum of employment litigation, including both state and federal claims in individual and collective and class action suits. She has handled cases involving claims of age, race, national origin, religion, disability and sex discrimination, as well as sexual harassment, retaliation, non-compete, restrictive covenant, trade secret, wage-hour, breach of contract and defamation issues.
Ms. Novick regularly counsels clients on day-to-day human resources issues including employee handbooks and policies, employment contracts and provides training for her clients.
Ms. Novick has spoken before professional groups, including the ABA and ACC on a variety of subjects including: privacy, particularly with regard to electronic communications; ethical issues involved in discovery; compliance programs and Sarbanes-Oxley; sexual harassment; performance management; and wage and hour law. She maintains an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Novick is the co-author of Handling Employment Disputes in New York, First ed. LCP, 1995; “After Acquired Evidence: 2 Wrongs, 1 Right?” New York Law Journal (1995) and “How to Handle Computer Generated Discovery Material” The Practical Litigator, ALI-ABA (1995).
Ms. Novick is admitted to practice in California and New York. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits; the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
Ms. Novick received a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1974 from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated with honors. She earned her Juris Doctor in 1980 from St. John's University School of Law and earned an MBA in human resources management from Long Island University-C.W. Post in 1988.
