Real Estate
Mr. Jeżek advised foreign and Czech investors and real estate funds in the acquisition of Czech real estate. In relation to such transactions, he prepared acquisition documentation and supervises due diligence of the real estate in question and other related matters. Mr. Jeżek recently took part in the number of successful acquisitions of development projects. In assisting Czech and foreign investors in the area of real estate law, Mr. Jeżek has also successfully represented clients in a number of litigation cases to resolve construction-law issues related to the real estate.
Litigation and Arbitration
Mr. Jeżek was involved in both national and international arbitrations conducted inter alia in accordance with ICC Rules. He further advised a number of clients in proceedings pending before Czech courts in the area of real estate, business law, corporate law, bill of exchange law, and competition law. The most significant disputes in which Mr. Jeżek has participated include, for instance, an ICC arbitration in Paris valued at approx. USD 300 million, representation of a foreign publishing group in a competition claim of a competing tabloid, representation of a pharmaceutical firm in a competition claim to refrain from unfair comparative advertising, and in a number of other disputes.
Commercial Law Advisory Services, Acquisitions
In addition, Mr. Jeżek has extensive experience in the law of joint-stock and limited liability companies, and has advised foreign companies in mergers and other corporate changes. Mr. Jeżek has also recently prepared the restructurings and mergers of companies owning a large shopping mall in Prague in the amount of more than 4 billion CZK. He also represented foreign investors in the acquisition of a Czech chain of sports stores and a branch of a well-known Prague fitness center.
European Law
Mr. Jeżek also focused on EU law in his legal practice as well as in theory as part of his professional and publication activities. In addition to a number of specialized articles focusing on the implementation of EU legislation into the Czech legal system, Mr. Jeżek focused on the procedural aspect of EU application before Czech authorities and courts and on proceedings before the Court of Justice and General Court and has published master filings to EU courts in an extensive collection of master agreements and filings. In practice, Mr. Jeżek deals with the application of EU law in a number of areas, in particular with the acquisition of real estate by foreign entities to the application of EU unfair competition regulations.
