Mona M. Stone represents both public and private entities throughout the country, ranging from small businesses to multibillion-dollar companies. Serving as corporate in-house counsel early in her career exposed Mona to a vast array of business legal issues. Drawing on that experience, her broad litigation and ADR skills have resulted in the resolution of major disputes:
•Strategically partners with clients to deliver efficient claims handling to advance business goals.
•More than 17 years of experience managing general independent caseload for global companies.
•Directed critical internal and external client investigations and communicated findings to executive management teams in response to formal charges, including corruption, whistleblower, intellectual property and data privacy issues.
•Performed assessment of FCPA compliance unit for multinational public corporation.
•Advised on third-party intermediary due diligence for FCPA compliance purposes and conducted FCPA and compliance counseling in India for Fortune 50 corporation.
•Fostered seamless integration and teaming relationships within international corporation.
•Represented governmental entity in class action litigation involving cybersecurity and data breach resulting in notificaction of more than 2 million individuals.
•Delivers and coordinates legal, contract and commercial advice in support of clients' businesses, working to manage and mitigate risk and legal costs and ensure ethical behavior and compliance with laws and company policies.
•Develops internal guidelines, toolkits, and policies on legal and business matters.
•Anticipates and counsels clients on issues relating to proactive risk management, regulatory and compliance issues, licensing, and eDiscovery.
•Regularly handles labor disputes and represents corporate and individual clients, with successful defense track record at administrative hearings, arbitrations, mediations and trial.
•Represents clients in investigations, audits, and enforcement proceedings before courts and governmental agencies, including the EEOC, DOL and OFCCP.
•Assists government contractors with preventive measures, compensation analyses, affirmative action programs, counseling and development of policies.
•Counsels clients on legal documents and employment agreements, including non-compete and non-disclosure terms.
•Drafts, interprets, and litigates various corporate and service contracts.
•Acts as senior point of contact on complex employment law issues, including discrimination charges and hearings before administrative agencies, including the EEOC and DOL.
•Counsels, guides, trains and supports junior through senior levels of management (including leading virtual teams) on emerging compliance issues.
•Published author of four books and frequent speaker, having written and presented on many topics involving best practices for employers, contract/policy drafting and enforcement, legal career management topics, and diversity issues.
