Biography

MORRIS H. WILTSHIRE, JR. "Mo" is a Partner with Prior, Daniel & Wiltshire, LLC. Mo graduated cum laude from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS in 1991 and received his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1994. His law school honors include being named to the Order of Barristers. Mo was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1994 and served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit from 1994-1996 prosecuting violent felony crimes and drug trafficking cases. Mo was a member of the Athens firm Garcia, Rose & Wiltshire were he practiced law upon returning to Athens in 1996. In the year 2004 Mo Wiltshire was the Republican Party Nominee for District Attorney for Athens-Clarke and Oconee County and was endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia, Inc., the Athens-Banner Herald, and the Athens Daily News during the election. Mo was appointed by Governor Perdue as Solicitor-General for Athens-Clarke County in 2005 and served in that post until January 1, 2007 where he lead the office charged with the prosecution of all matters in the State Court of Clarke County and Athens City Courts. When his term as Solicitor-General expired he joined the law firm of Prior, Daniel & Wiltshire and resumed the private practice of law.

His law practice includes extensive criminal jury trial work in courts throughout Georgia and the Southeast as well as business, insurance, personal injury and family law litigation. He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, The Western Circuit Bar Association (Treasurer 2005-2006) and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mo Wiltshire has served and continues to serve in many capacities in the community including as the Special Prosecutor for Athens-Clarke County Coroner's Inquests in Death Investigations (2000-2005). He serves as a Volunteer Instructor for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, NOBIC (New Officer Basic Investigation Course) Program (2000-present). He also serves as Faculty Member for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in the Georgia Trial Skills Clinic (1999-present). Mo is also a frequent speaker at Athens-Clarke County Hospitality Resource Panel initiatives regarding Underage Alcohol Consumption and Liability Issues for local business owners (1999-present), he has served with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, as a Judge for the University of Georgia School of Law Mock Trial and Moot Court Programs (1996-present), and as a Judge for many High School Mock Trial Competitions sponsored by the Georgia Bar Association (1996-present) as a speaker and panelist for Safe Campuses Now, Inc. and as the lawyer's chair of the United Way of Northeast Georgia, Doctors v. Lawyers Basketball Challenge.
