Practice/Industry Group Overview
Moye White's attorneys represent a variety of energy companies in matters relating to generation, transmission and regulatory compliance before state utility and federal commissions.
We counsel independent power producers bidding to build new-generation power sources, owners and developers of wind farms, and lenders and equity firms investing in generation and transmission of electricity and alternative energy technologies. We represent owners and operators in purchase and lease agreement negotiations, including bid selection and documentation, due diligence, research into economic impacts of planned initiatives, and land use disputes.
Our attorneys assist clients to secure permits and approvals from government agencies, obtain financing, develop individualized energy tariffs, and determine regulatory compliance for energy-related projects. We also negotiate interconnection agreements for access to power grids and address disputes that arise in connection with such agreements. We advise concerning ongoing due diligence, strategic planning, and process orientation.
Our attorneys work collaboratively with our real estate and construction attorneys to assist clients in property acquisition required to build gas-fired and wind-generated power plants, high-voltage power lines, pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and underground storage.
We also counsel energy companies with ongoing due diligence, strategic planning, process orientation, energy conservation, and green initiatives.
