His professional practice has been focused on lawsuits, corporate law and arbitration. Currently, Mr. Gutiérrez is a member of the board of Moneda S.A. Administradora de Fondos de Inversión (an investment funds company). For ten years he was also vice-president of the board of directors of Cemento Melón (Lafarge). Mr. Gutiérrez has been legal advisor to many foreign banks and investors in a variety of commercial, banking and corporate issues, including joint ventures, loans, stock issues and debts. He also advises legally local companies participating in different industrial businesses, in construction and services. He studied law at Universidad de Chile's law school and is a member of the Chilean bar Association since 1982. In 1987, he attended the Academy of American and International Law of the Southwestern Legal Foundation en Dallas, Texas, U.S.A. He is a member of the list of arbitrators of Santiago's Chamber of Commerce and Consultive President of Fundación Pro-Bono.
