Kristi Kendrick has practiced law in large firms and small, in corporations and governmental entities. She has extensive experience in probate and estate planning, real estate, business planning, and lobbying. She is admitted to the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. She has been the Chief Deputy City Attorney in New Orleans in charge of housing, moving to Northwest Arkansas after Hurricane Katrina. Kristi has not only legal experience, but also management experience. She understands the challenges of running a small business in Northwest Arkansas in this economy. She most recently was employed at Walmart Realty, where she managed the real estate side of all of Walmart's and Sam's Clubs' distribution centers, Home Office properties, and specialty facilities, which totaled over 114 million square feet and over $58 million dollars in annual rent. She has also been the Vice President in charge of Louisiana for a national title insurance underwriter. She has been active in volunteer activities throughout her life, most recently having been elected to the board of commissioners of the Inspiration Point Rural Fire Protection District and serving as the recording secretary. Transactions Managed a $32 million sale by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. of 80 Murphy Oil gas station properties to Murphy Oil; participated in roundtable on abandoned property at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy at Harvard University; made a presentation on abandoned property at the annual meeting of the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law; conceived, wrote, lobbied for and obtained passage of 15 statutes and numerous ordinances; conceived, developed and managed 8 of the 11 programs that encouraged redevelopment of abandoned property in the City of New Orleans, thereby earning the City more than $2 million; examined title to the New Orleans levee from the French Quarter through Uptown; oversaw the issuance of the then largest title insurance commitment ever written, for over $700 million on the New Orleans land-based casino; handled the underwriting for and coordinated the title portion of large multi-state real estate transactions, including major leveraged buyouts and refinancings, such as the $440 million Shoney's leveraged refinancing and Coca-Cola Enterprises' acquisitions of bottling facilities.
