About this office:
The firm is India's largest law firm. Our origin dates back to the end of the last century when Sir Dinshaw Mulla and his brother, Rustomji Mulla established the firm in 1895. Sir Dinshaw Mulla was a Privy Counsellor and author of several legal works including Contract, Partnership, Sale of Goods, Insolvency, Civil Procedure Code etc., and which even today are leading authorities. The firm merged in 1952 with Messrs. Craigie Blunt & Caroe, that firm being solicitors in the East India Company. Since then the firm has grown to its current strength of over 150 inclusive of lawyers, fee earners and administrative staff. Individual partners concentrate on different areas of the firm's practice enabling the providing of specialist legal, commercial and technical services to clients. The firm has built up very close working relationship with lawyers throughout the world. Many of the firm's lawyers are qualified Solicitors of the Supreme Courts of England and Hong Kong. Most of the firm's partners travel widely in the course of their work which enables them to make invaluable international contacts. Many of our partners have presented papers at International and Domestic Law Conferences. One of the firm's Senior Partner was the past President of the Solicitors' Law Society and past President of the Indian Merchants Chamber (being the first and the only Solicitor to occupy this position in the Chamber). Another Senior Partner of the firm is the Chairman, Indian Council of Arbitration (Western Region) as also Chairman, Law Committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber and was also on the Government of India's N.R.I.
