The firm was established in 1914 and has been generally known as a firm specializing in domestic and international intellectual property matters, and all the attorneys at law in the firm have long engaged in litigations, licensing contracts, negotiations, etc., relating to intellectual property matters as well as patent and trademark prosecutions before the Patent Office. But over the course of years, it has become more and more common for us to be consulted on general corporate matters and various international transactions such as joint venture, distributorship agreement, M & A, etc., by clients for whom we originally rendered services regarding intellectual property matters. Further, we have been consulted by, given advice to, and represented in litigation many of our clients in connection with general corporate matters and international transactions.

The firm consists of five sections: Electrical and Electronics Section, Mechanical Section, Chemical Section, Trademark Section and Legal Section. Each section has several partners who closely supervise the members in their section. The managing partners are not only involved in the management of the firm and the coordination of the partners but also play a leading role in the firm's practice.
