Nathan A. Baker is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Indianapolis, Indiana office and is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Department.
Mr. Baker represents employers in both the employment and traditional labor areas, and his practice includes counseling management in a wide array of issues facing today's companies. He has represented management in union-free training, arbitration hearings, unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Labor wage and hour investigations, matters before the EEOC and Indiana Civil Rights Commission, and federal and state court actions alleging discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination, as well as matters involving the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and ERISA.
Mr. Baker also counsels clients with regard to their practices, policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements and conducts training sessions covering a variety of employment issues. He has given numerous presentations and seminars on a broad range of employment topics to clients and employment organizations. Mr. Baker also represents employers in collective bargaining negotiations as well as in resisting union organizing attempts.
He received a B.A. cum laude in philosophy from Wabash College and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Mr. Baker is admitted to practice before the Indiana Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, as well as the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
