Mr. Price has represented employers in a variety of employment-related litigation matters. This includes lawsuits under federal and state antidiscrimination laws (e.g., age, race, sex, disability and religious discrimination, plus sexual and other harassment), wrongful discharge, defamation in the workplace, ERISA, workers' compensation, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of restrictive covenants and employment-related claims under RICO and antitrust laws. Areas Of Experience Preventative Measures · Mr. Price regularly counsels employers on measures they can take to reduce employment-related litigation. This ranges from advice on individual employment decisions to review of employer policies and practices as reflected in employee handbooks, policy and procedure manuals, offer letters, employment applications, security procedures, drug and alcohol testing, layoff and discharge procedures and union avoidance measures. Additional Background · Mr. Price has headed the Firm's educational efforts on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). He conducts in-house compliance training for human resources staff and supervisors about the ADA and other regulations. He has spoken to hundreds of people at programs throughout Pennsylvania on topics such as reducing the risks of employee terminations, the FMLA, sexual harassment and OSHA. Labor and Employment Practice · Mr. Price has represented employers in litigation under the FMLA, the WARN Act and OSHA, as well as labor arbitrations, contract negotiations, representation in unfair labor practice proceedings before the NLRB, union election campaigns and injunction proceedings during labor strikes. He has handled matters involving AIDS in the workplace and is the author of a comprehensive analysis of Pennsylvania's Confidentiality of HIV-Related Information Act.
