Founded in 1952, Bakr & Odeh was established by its late founder, Ibrahim Bakr. Since its early inception, Bakr & Odeh has proven itself to be the firm of choice for numerous leading local and international companies, banks as well as governmental and non-governmental institutions.
The work undertaken by the firm is equally wide, covering all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including banking, investment, securities insurance, telecommunications, aviation, concessions in addition to environmental, regulatory, labor, administrative, and constitutional matters. Construction and project development feature heavily within the firm's repertoire of unique expertise. Recent examples of the firm's work include major real estate and tourism development project estimated at $1 billion; acquisitions of target companies in the construction and industry sectors; and negotiation-of long term gas sale agreements for industrial use.
In addition, the firm has a strong emphasis on dispute resolution. It provided legal advice and assistance in relation to several multi-million dollar disputes before Jordanian courts and various local and international arbitral tribunals, including ICC and ICSID arbitration.
As the firm's client base grew, so did its contribution in the community, providing pro bono services especially for public service complaints, NGO related matters, and to those in need. Furthermore, the senior partner, Aiman Odeh, is highly recognized for his contribution in legislative reforms during his private practice and later during his tenure in ministerial positions.
