Pamela A. McCallum has more than 20 years of experience trying high-stakes commercial cases in federal and state courts throughout the country. She has handled a wide range of litigation matters including complex contractual disputes, cases involving all forms of unfair competition, intellectual property disputes, professional negligence actions, disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes and other commercial cases. In addition to handling lawsuits filed in courts at the trial level, Pam has also argued before appellate courts and tried cases before arbitration panels. Pam also counsels clients on the protection of their intellectual property, including by way of agreements (including employment agreements that contain covenants not to compete and confidentiality provisions), and implementation of various security measures and electronic procedures and safeguards. Pam has been actively involved in the management of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney for the past eight years. She was the first woman to be elected to the firm's Compensation Committee in 1999, and she chaired that committee in 2001. Pam was elected to Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's board of directors in 2002 and reelected in 2006. She is past vice co-chair of the firm's Litigation Section. Pam's clients include energy companies, health care companies, software and technology companies, major financial institutions, insurance agencies, engineering and consulting firms, accounting firms, manufacturing companies and companies in the communications industry. She also represents individual clients. Some of Pam's recent litigation matters include: · Serving as lead trial counsel for a Fortune 500 energy company in litigation filed against it by another Fortune 500 energy company arising out of the acquisition of an energy facility. · Serving as lead trial counsel for a national dialysis provider in several multimillion-dollar unfair competition cases it filed in federal courts for theft of trade secrets, breach of covenants not-to-compete, copyright infringement and other acts of unfair competition. · Represented as lead trial counsel one of the big four accounting firms, successfully defending it in a multimillion-dollar professional negligence case that was tried before a jury. · Obtained an excellent result as lead trial counsel for a national coal company in a lawsuit it filed against another national coal company arising out of a long-term coal supply contract where millions of dollars were at stake. · Successfully represented as lead trial counsel a privately owned coal and natural gas company in the defense of a multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed by a Fortune 500 utility over a long-term coal supply contract.
