For over fifteen years Pat's professional life has been devoted to helping businesses establish and protect their brands, including nearly ten as a practicing trademark attorney. Pat focuses his practice on U.S. and international trademark clearance, trademark portfolio management and protection and trademark and copyright licensing. Pat also regularly provides advertising, unfair competition, consumer protection, Internet, and privacy law counseling. He represents companies in trademark, domain name, and copyright dispute proceedings, including Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ("TTAB"), in domain name arbitration proceedings, and in negotiating settlement agreements in these areas. His trademark clearance and policing expertise is derived in part from his pre-law background working as management-team member and researcher with a leading trademark research firm.
