Patrick McNerney manages the firm's Property and Transfer Tax practice. He concentrates on property and transfer tax minimization, planning and analysis. Patrick has extensive experience with state and municipal incentives and general litigation. His experience includes multi-state ad valorem tax litigation, real and personal property valuation and tax appeals, tax abatement, real estate tax sale, delinquency and tax exemption litigation. He also has extensive experience with tax appeals on industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, office, retail, telecommunications, nursing, long-term health and life care facilities, agricultural, multifamily, low income, sanitary landfill, leasehold and special use properties. Patrick represents Fortune 500 companies in multi-million dollar tax disputes in multiple jurisdictions. His litigation experience includes jury trials and appellate and Supreme Court cases. His property tax experience extends to numerous states including California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Patrick has substantial experience in multi-state, county and municipal real estate transfer taxes. He devises tax management and reduction strategies on real estate fund transactions and has significant transfer tax litigation experience.
Patrick is a former prosecutor and has tried 24 criminal jury trials and more than 100 bench trials to verdict.
