About this office:

The labor and employment lawyers of Paul, Plevin, Sullivan & Connaughton LLP are dedicated to serving California employers. The firm specializes in representing both private and public sector employers throughout the state in discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage & hour, trade secret, and other employment-related claims. The firm's cases range from routine matters before state and federal administrative agencies, to Superior Court and District Court individual and class action lawsuits, to appellate work in both the state and federal court systems. The firm's record in favorably disposing of cases before trial is outstanding. When trial is necessary, Paul, Plevin's 29 attorneys draw on their substantial trial experience to obtain excellent results in jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations.

In addition to litigation, the firm's attorneys counsel employers on labor/management relations, compliance matters, employment transactions, investigations and a vast array of other day-to-day employment issues. Two of our attorneys focus exclusively in compliance and risk avoidance counseling. Paul, Plevin also has a portfolio of innovative and fun training programs to assist employers with employee training in harassment prevention, investigations, effective management within the law and other employment related issues.

The firm's commitment to excellence has been recognized by our clients and peers:

In the inaugural "Best Law Firm" ranking by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, Paul, Plevin was the only law firm in San Diego to receive the highest "Tier One" ranking in both Employment Law and Labor Law.

California Law Business named Paul, Plevin as one of California's top five defense-side labor and employment boutiques.

For several years, the firm has been named by Fortune 500 companies as a "Go To" firm for labor and employment law services in Fortune's annual survey of leading corporate legal departments.

Six Paul, Plevin attorneys are listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and Best Lawyers' selected three different Paul, Plevin partners as "San Diego Best Lawyers - Labor & Employment Litigation Lawyer of the Year" in 2011, 2012 and 2013, its first three years of selecting a single "Lawyer of the Year" in specified categories.

Two partners have been profiled as "Top Employment Law Attorneys" by the San Francisco-based publication, The Recorder.

A firm partner is the Editor-in-Chief of Bender's California Labor and Employment Law Bulletin, a statewide employment law reporter.
