The firm corresponds to an original project in the Portuguese context in terms of combining academic expertise with solid references as regards the legal practice of its members. Accordingly, it combines the academic background of its main partners in the areas of economic, financial and EC law, which makes them particularly well equipped to highly specialized activities of legal consultancy, with a strong practice also in highly specialized fields of great relevance to different types of corporate operations (including take-overs and mergers, restructuring transactions, spin-offs and split-offs) and to several areas involving relationship with the state and different public entities (e.g. public-private partnerships, lease or concession agreements and the statutory regimes and functioning of several types of public entities on the basis of public law) and also to the representation of the Portuguese State or other entities at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) or the European Court of First Instance (CFI).
