Peggy A. Clarke focuses her practice on the full range of international trade and market access issues. She has more than 20 years' experience defending numerous companies and governments in antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard proceedings. She has advised governments on dispute settlement under the WTO and its predecessor, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). She has advised clients in a wide range of areas such as: · antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard proceedings. · customs compliance and disclosures. · GATT, WTO, and NAFTA dispute settlements. · legislative matters-representing client interests in trade legislation. · negotiations - WTO, Doha, Free Trade Agreements. · developing market access strategies. Ms. Clarke has worked with companies on a variety of Customs matters, including the refund of duties owed, country-of-origin and civil and criminal penalty matters. She provides strategic advice to clients about a wide range of international trade and market access issues. Her experience includes: · Advising a major food manufacturer in antidumping proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce. · Advising several governments in countervailing duty proceedings that resulted in findings of no subsidies. · Advising Fortune 500 companies on strategies for opening foreign markets previously closed to them. Ms. Clarke is an adjunct professor, teaching trade remedy law, at The George Washington University Law School.
