Ms. Richter is a partner in the firm's Denver office and is the co-chair of the office's Corporate Department. Her practice focuses on real estate, finance, corporate and natural resource matters, and she represents real estate investment trusts, financial institutions, corporations and other entities in a variety of transactions. She routinely serves as lead counsel in the acquisition, sale and financing of commercial real estate portfolio properties throughout the United States and other financing and corporate transactions. Ms. Richter has served on the firm's national Policy Board, is chair of the firm's Audit Letter Committee, and served on the Policy Board's Diversity Subcommittee. Through her volunteer work on the Board of The Alliance Foundation, which promotes microfinance lending in Third World countries, Ms. Richter has helped establish numerous village banks on various continents. She also serves on the board of and provides pro bono services to The Colorado Humane Society & SPCA, an affiliate of the Denver Dumb Friends League, assisting with the investigation, preparation and prosecution of animal cruelty and neglect cases.
•Representing a national REIT in the acquisition, disposition and financing of more than $4 billion in commercial real estate properties throughout the United States, and the client's initial public offering and subsequent merger.
•Representing a national REIT in an $815 million sale-leaseback financing transaction involving a national retailer, reported byThe Wall Street Journalat the time to be the largest such transaction in the United States.
•Representing a national REIT in the private placement of more than $1 billion in net-lease mortgage notes.
•Representing a large Colorado county in connection with real estate matters related to the development of its new international airport.
•Representing various lenders and owners in connection with oil, gas, coal and other mineral financings throughout the country.
•Representing a large Colorado cable company in connection with multimillion-dollar asset sales.
•Representing a nonprofit client in connection with the sale, lease and development of property for community purposes (including development of a public library and community recreational facilities).
•Representing a lender in connection with the structuring and financing of the upgrade and new construction of utility facilities servicing a large automobile company's manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.
