About this office:

The firm was founded in 1985 by Anthony P. Picadio, Lynette Norton and C. Leon Sherman, who withdrew from the litigation group of a large, well-known Pittsburgh corporate law firm, in order to form a civil litigation firm which would provide high-quality, cost-effective representation to clients involved in litigation. Initially the firm was called Sherman & Picadio. After Mr. Sherman withdrew and others joined, the name became Picadio McCall Kane & Norton. In 1998 it became Picadio, McCall, Miller & Norton, and after the retirement of C. Robert McCall and the addition of Henry Sneath became Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C.

From its founding until the present the firm has primarily been a litigation boutique with a specific emphasis on business, commercial, environmental, construction, insurance coverage, pharmaceutical, products, toxic and tort litigation.

Throughout its history, members of Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C., have been recognized for their accomplishments in the practice of law and have engaged in other law-related activities to assist the community as well as their clients. Mr. Picadio is listed in Best Lawyers in America for the fields of Environmental Law and Business Litigation and has been selected by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. President Clinton twice nominated her to fill a vacancy on the bench of the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, but the Senate never made a final decision on those nominations. Ms. Norton was also appointed to the Lawyers' Advisory Committee for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1997; was appointed to chair the Civil Justice Advisory Group for the Western District of Pennsylvania by Chief Judge of the district from 1995-98; was an adjunct Professor of Law at Duquesne University School of Law and wrote the book on insurance coverage in Pennsylvania, literally.
