Pierre Cimon has practised as a trial lawyer since 1968. He has pleaded before the courts and before many administrative tribunals and international arbitration bodies. He frequently acts as a commercial arbitrator, particularly in commercial litigation and construction law matters. Mr. Cimon is widely recognized as an expert in construction law and general civil law, including insurance and liability. He has successfully argued many major precedent-setting cases in Quebec law that have been published in various law reports.
Mr. Cimon joined the firm in 1991 when the Québec office opened and was the office managing partner until July 2008. From 1992 to 1994, he was a member of the subcommittee of the Quebec Bar responsible for examining the draft Civil Code of Québec. From 2004 to 2007, he chaired the Committee on the remuneration of the judges of the Court of Québec and the municipal courts established under the Courts of Justice Act.
