Poonam is an Associate in the firm's Boston office, practicing in the Public Finance Section. She has served as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter's counsel, borrower's counsel, and bank counsel in connection with the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable financings related to transportation, higher education, health care, economic development, project finance, water, and wastewater.
Before joining the firm, Poonam was a research assistant and dean's fellow for the International Human Rights Clinic at American University. She was also an intern at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and in the legal department of Rolls-Royce North America.
In 2009, 2010, and 2011, Poonam was recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers "Rising Star," in a listing published as a special supplement to Boston Magazine.
Poonam received her B.S. in Business Administration and her B.A. in Law and Society, magna cum laude, from American University (2004). She earned her J.D. from American University's Washington College of Law (2007).
