Who We Are
Members of the New Jersey Judiciary, former Supreme Court Justice James H. Coleman, Jr., former Essex County Assignment Judge Alvin Weiss and former Trial Court Judge John M. Newman, devote their considerable talents to dispute resolutionżarbitration and mediationżin a vast array of cases. The former justice and judges have extensive experience in the management and resolution of discovery issues in simple and complex cases. They bring their insight to cases filed in both state and federal courts in New Jersey. They are frequently asked to serve as Special Discovery Masters to facilitate the development of discovery in a fair and cost-effective manner.
Our Experience
The results speak for themselves. Over 95 percent of our mediations are successfully concluded. In the remaining matters, many have settled at the beginning of trial as a result of the mediation. In other matters, the parties returned for additional mediation after having resolved certain issues by motion or conducting additional discovery. Arbitrations are conducted in a manner that often leads to resolution of the case without the need for further litigation or trial.
