Pam Walter assists clients in addressing information technology and e-business issues and issues involving privacy, security, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets. She focuses on cyberlaw and e-business solutions, including negotiating joint venture and strategic partnering relationships, and the protection and distribution of software, databases and multimedia products.
Pam founded Gardner Carton Douglas LLP's Cyberlaw and Intellectual Property practice, and served for six years on the firm's management committee.
She has been recognized among Chambers USA's "Leaders in their Field" for Technology each year since 2006 and is named among Illinois' Super Lawyers in Intellectual Property, Illinois Leading Lawyers Network in Computer and Technology Law and the Top 100 Women Lawyers in Chicago. She has been named to Best Lawyers in America® for her Intellectual Property/Technology practice and Corporate practice for decades.
Pam is a member of the I-Tech Association, SIM and the American Bar Foundation. She is past president of the board of Chicago Shakespeare Theater and a past president of the board of the Metropolitan Planning Council, and remains active with both organizations. She is also on the board of the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Information Integrity Coalition, and is a member of the board of overseers of Chicago Kent School of Law. Pam is a former board member of the Field Museum and The Latin School of Chicago (former board president). She is also a member of The Chicago Network, an organization of senior-level professional women.
In General. Pam received her J.D. degree from Northwestern University, her master's degree from London School of Economics and her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College. She clerked for Hon. Walter J. Cummings of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
