Group Profile:
The Euro-American Lawyers Group (EALG) is an association of Law Firms founded in 1985. The members of EALG believe that they can best serve their
clients' interests overseas by co-operating with like-minded firms who have local knowledge of, and immediate access to, the legal system operating in
their own jurisdictions. EALG's philosophy is that local representation is vital in today's dynamic market where both legislation and commercial
practice are changing regularly at both national and international levels.
Since its inception in 1985 EALG has steadily developed, and now comprises over 350 lawyers working in some 20 different jurisdictions. Each member
has their own network of local contacts.
With members throughout Europe and Scandinavia and in the United States, EALG provides excellent communications to many of the important commercial
centres of the world.
In addition to providing legal services to other members of the Group and their clients, members of the Group can:
- introduce clients of other members to professional colleagues providing complementary services in their jurisdictions,
- provide facilities in their offices for meetings.
EALG has a formal structure with a Management Committee, which meets quarterly. The Group as a whole meets twice a year. Between meetings, Group
members work together in working parties on matters of mutual interest.
A newsletter "Interview" is produced on behalf of the Group and circulated by members to their clients, thereby assisting them in keeping abreast
with commercial developments in other important business jurisdictions.
All the firms representing the Group are recognized providers of legal services in their own regions and have access to a wide range of business
connections, resources and technologies. Membership of the Group is by invitation only and admission requires the approval of all the members.
The principal object of the Group is to enable members to provide their clients with a first class, cost effective legal service in the leading
commercial jurisdictions of Europe and Scandinavia and in the United States.
Anyone who would like to know more about the Group, or the services which its members can provide, please contact the Chairman for further details
