European Law Firm (ELF), established in 1989, was the first registered European Economic Interest Grouping (eeig). The network includes 24 commercially oriented law firms, comprising around 400 lawyers. Through its members it offers a depth of legal knolwedge and experience matched by a flexible international outlook.

Its principal strength is the close professional relationships between the network's members. In addition to the ability and reputation of the member firms in their own countries, many ELF members have worked with other member firms for years and long standing relationships have been built. Clients of ELF members need not spend time searching for reliable foreign legal counsel.

In order to enhance this personal contact between member firms, European Law Firm holds three General Meetings per year, when information, ideas, and experiences are exchanged. ELF also maintains a lawyer exchange program in order to promote greater insight into different legal systems and cultures.

All these factors allow European Law Firm through its members to provide the expertise and level of service required in the developing marketplace of Europe today.
