Founded in 2000, the Law Firm Alliance (LFA) is an informal network of over 50 mid-sized law firms located throughout the United States with an international presence in Mexico, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Finland, Canada and the United Kingdom. The alliance brings together the expertise of more than 2,300 attorneys offering a wide range of legal and industry specialties.

LFA member firms are mid-sized firms with a relatively narrow geographic scope. The LFA maintains a policy of territorial exclusivity - with one LFA firm serving a particular city or state. All are highly regarded commercial firms offering a variety of corporate and litigation services, and each U.S. based LFA member has received the AV peer review rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.

The Alliance was founded with the intent to provide a vehicle for clients to obtain competent and responsive legal services by offering a network of firms for referral of legal matters. Through the Alliance, member firms refer client matters to LFA members in other locales with the knowledge that their client's legal needs will be met with the highest level of quality and service.

The Law Firm Alliance also provides an opportunity for member firms to share information on topics of common interest to mid-sized firms, such as client service, firm governance, profitability, practice management, and client development. Such information is exchanged through bi-annual meetings, monthly conference calls, and the LFA website.

The Law Firm Alliance is not a partnership or a joint venture, and no member may charge or receive a referral fee. Although member firms are encouraged to utilized the Alliance when referring matters, there is no obligation to do so.

Membership in the Law Firm Alliance is by invitation only. The group continues to approach select firms in areas where the LFA is not presently represented in an effort to offer a complete referral network throughout the United States and internationally.
