PLG International Lawyers E.E.I.G. is a network of small to medium sized full-service law firms that operate independently in their own jurisdiction. All offices have English speaking lawyers and have a longstanding experience of working with clients from different cultures and legal systems in different languages.

Structure
PLG was founded in 1989 and presently groups 27 member firms and 1500 lawyers, notaries and paralegals. Each member firm has 2 council directors and PLG meetings are organized three times per year in countries in which PLG is represented. This allows PLG members to get to know the structure of each other's offices well and to meet all lawyers working at the member firms. At council meetings a great number of issues are discussed including operational matters, promotional and marketing initiatives and the future development of PLG.

Attendance at council meetings of all PLG member firms is greatly appreciated and is considered to be a measure of the involvement of the member firm in the grouping. The day-to-day management rests with the Executive Committee consisting of a yearly elected president and four ExCom members representing the different parts of the world. They recommend strategic and development actions to the council and implement council decisions.

Alternative to large integrated international law networks
PLG International Lawyers is an ideal and affordable alternative to large integrated international law firm networks. Through its network it has the benefits of a large firm while giving clients the opportunity to work with client friendly teams where the partners continue to maintain a personal contact and relationship with each client.

High Standards
PLG member firms are carefully chosen and have to fit into the group's philosophy of looking after the client's interest in the best possible way. PLG member firms are well established in their own jurisdiction. Particular importance is placed upon the need to bridge not only legal and linguistic differences, but also cultural differences between negotiating parties. PLG lawyers know each other well thanks to meeting at least 3 times a year. Member firms all trust each other to look after referred clients as they would look after their own clients and to deliver a high standard of work.

PLG Activities
PLG organizes activities that are directed at both existing and potential clients and PLG member firms ranging from newsletters, publications and joint seminars to mutual interest group meetings on particular areas of law and marketing strategy meetings.

YPLG
PLG finds it particularly important to involve young lawyers and has therefore created young PLG (YPLG) which groups all lawyers up to the age of 35 years. They have their own council meetings and Executive Committee. A programme for the exchange of trainees has also been set up allowing young lawyers to go and work at another PLG member firm for a limited period of time. This programme offers great opportunities for young lawyers and greatly enhances their perception of being a member of a worldwide network.
