The Legal Marketing Association (LMA), formed in 1985, is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to serving the needs and maintaining the professional standards of those involved in marketing for the legal profession. LMA provides its members with professional support and education as well as opportunities for intellectual and practical information exchange.
Positioned throughout the United States, Canada and abroad, LMA has close to 1,200 members who have acquired a diverse array of professional experiences prior to entering the legal services marketing field. They hold a variety of titles and are responsible for a broad range of activities. Current LMA members within law firms have titles that include Director, Manager or Coordinator of Marketing, Client Development, Client Services, Client Relations, Practice Development, Communications and Business Development. Members are also consultants and vendors who support legal services marketing as independent contractors.
LMA currently has thirteen local chapters that offer additional networking and educational opportunities for members.
