Rachel A. Avan concentrates her practice on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors, in addition to focusing on new case development.
Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Ms. Avan began her career as an associate at a corporate law firm where she counseled clients regarding compliance with federal and state securities laws, helped draft securities filings, and assisted with the preparation of responses to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Ms. Avan is the co-author of "Government Reliance on Private Litigants Diverges With Court Trends," New York Law Journal, September 9, 2011.
Before attending Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Ms. Avan served as an editorial assistant for a Boston-based publishing company.
