| Biography | Randy Nussbaum is a founding shareholder of Nussbaum Gillis & Dinner, P.C., an AV- Preeminent rated Scottsdale law firm with expertise in complex and unusual bankruptcies, commercial litigation, construction, corporate and transactional law, real estate, tax and general business law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, and his law degree from Arizona State University, graduating in the top 25% of his class. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona (Bankruptcy, Real Estate and Construction Sections), Scottsdale Bar Association and Maricopa County Bar Association. Mr. Nussbaum is a former Director of the Scottsdale Bar Association and current Director of the Maricopa County Bar Foundation. He is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Mr. Nussbaum's practice concentrates in the areas of bankruptcy - in which he is both a national and state certified specialist - real estate, construction, and contracting law. He is a frequent lecturer and author for the State and Maricopa County Bar Associations, the Arizona State University Alumni Association and a number of professional and trade groups on bankruptcy, construction and real estate topics. Mr. Nussbaum has spoken at regional presentations sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute on a variety of bankruptcy-related subjects. He also chairs a yearly seminar on bankruptcy Chapter 13's sponsored by the ASU Law School Alumni Association. Mr. Nussbaum is extensively involved in his community. He is a 1990 graduate of the Scottsdale Leadership Training Program and served on its Board of Directors from 2002 to 2006, two years serving as Vice President. He sat on the Scottsdale Environmental Quality Advisory Board from 1999 until 2005 and was the Citizens Chairman for EnvirokidsFest, which was an annual all-day festival at WestWorld for Scottsdale-area fourth graders. Since 2002, Mr. Nussbaum has served as a board member for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, and is currently serving as its chair for 2011. From 2007-2009, Mr. Nussbaum chaired the Center's Night Run for the Arts. He was appointed to the Scottsdale Cultural Council Board of Trustees in 2011 and is on its Executive Council. Mr. Nussbaum is a board member of the Maricopa County Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Maricopa County Bar Association, which provides funding of approximately $40,000 a year to charitable and non-profit organizations promoting law-related activities. He also donates time helping underprivileged individuals at Scottsdale's Paiute Center and accepts bankruptcy cases referred to him by the Volunteer Lawyer Program. In December of 2003, Mr. Nussbaum was honored by the ASU Law School Alumni Association for his many years of service to the Law School. He has been selected to Super Lawyers® for the 5th consecutive year (2007-2011), Best Lawyers® for 2010-2011, and Arizona's Finest Lawyers® for the 3rd consecutive year (2009-2011).
