Rick Horder is the head of the Atlanta Environmental, Land Use and Natural Resources Team. He has broad-ranging experience in all areas of environmental law, from negotiating permits through litigating environmental cases. He has successfully negotiated numerous air, water, and solid and hazardous waste permits, and has worked extensively on behalf of clients in matters involving regulations promulgated under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act, CERCLA, EPCRA, the Endangered Species Act, and other environmental statutes. Mr. Horder has experience in asbestos, formaldehyde, PCB, dioxin, and other toxic tort personal injury litigation, having defended numerous such cases. He has substantial experience in representing clients in citizen suits and agency enforcement actions, particularly under the Clean Water Act, as well as suits seeking compensation for natural resources damages and property contamination. Selected Experience · Former Assistant United States Attorney, Northern District of Georgia (Civil Division), from 1974 through 1977 representing numerous federal agencies including EPA, FDA, and CPSC, and defending Federal Tort Claims Act matters. · Regional Counsel for Georgia-Pacific Corporation where he was responsible for environmental matters and general litigation. Later Associate General Counsel with Georgia-Pacific where he was directly responsible for environmental compliance and environmental and toxic tort litigation corporate-wide, and supervised corporate and business matters for the Chemical Division.
