Robert D. Vogel is a Shareholder in the Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Mr. Vogel, over the last 40 years, has developed a reputation and expertise in all aspects of labor and employment litigation.
Mr. Vogel is the only attorney in Jackson Lewis' Los Angeles office who handles both traditional labor law and employment litigation. He has been repeatedly named one of the Top 100 Labor Attorneys in the United States by the Labor Relations Institute, Inc. and is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Southern California panel of neutral employment arbitrators and mediators. He is also on the panel of attorneys for the United States District Court for the Central District of California assigned to mediate labor and employment complaints filed in federal court.
Mr. Vogel has tried over 15 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts.
At Jackson Lewis, Mr. Vogel represents employers in all types of employment litigation including contractual, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, California and federal qui tam claims, wage and hour disputes and collective and class actions.
Mr. Vogel's PAGA, collective and class action litigation experience include claims involving issues such as exempt/non-exempt status, meal and rest periods, future chargebacks on prior commissions paid, working off-the-clock, failure to pay overtime, failure to reimburse for business expenses, accurate wage statements and statutory penalties for failure to pay due and owing compensation.
His state and federal court false claims and qui tam experience include claims involving issues such as individuals claiming unlawful retaliation for engaging in protected activities, over billing, illegal kickbacks, related fraudulent activitiesand the performance of worthless services in various industries.
Mr. Vogel is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in all federal courts in California, most federal circuit courts and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Vogel attended Brigham Young University and the University of Loyola of Los Angeles School of Law where he graduated with honors and published two labor-related articles in its law review.
Mr. Vogel has seven children and 16 grandchildren and besides his family, his interests include sports and politics.
