Biography

Robert D. Vogel is a Shareholder in the Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C.

Mr. Vogel, over the last 35 years, has developed a reputation and expertise in labor and employment litigation and all aspects of traditional labor law including union guidance and collective bargaining.

For the first 19 years of his practice, Mr. Vogel represented labor unions and was legal counsel for most of the Teamsters Local Unions in Southern California, Joint Counsel of Teamsters No. 42 and the Western Conference of Teamsters and International Brotherhood of Teamsters in California.

Mr. Vogel is the only attorney in Jackson Lewis' Los Angeles office who handles both traditional labor law and employment litigation. He has been repeatedly named one of the Top 100 Labor Attorneys in the United States by the Labor Relations Institute, Inc. and is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Southern California panel of neutral employment arbitrators and mediators. He also maintains an AV® Preeminent™ rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

At Jackson Lewis, Mr. Vogel represents employers in all types of employment litigation including contractual, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination and wage and hour disputes. He also advises and counsels clients on all labor and employment related issues including collective bargaining, existing relationships with unions and union avoidance.

Mr. Vogel is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in all federal courts in California, most federal circuit courts and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Vogel attended Brigham Young University and the University of Loyola of Los Angeles School of Law where he graduated with honors and published two labor-related articles in its law review.

Mr. Vogel has seven children and 14 grandchildren and besides his family, his interests include sports and politics.
