| Biography | Robert E. Forbes is a partner in our Business Law Group in Toronto. His practice is focused on finance, securities regulation and mergers and acquisitions matters with particular reference to mergers and acquisitions in regulated industries and private equity transactions. He acts for Canadian banks, insurance companies, pension funds and other financial institutions in relation to their financing and acquisition activities, both international and domestic. He also acts on acquisitions, divestitures and structuring of broadcasting and telecommunications business and companies and power projects, again both international and domestic. Mr. Forbes also acts for Canadian issuers and securities dealers on domestic and international financings and acquisitions, and in particular, the structuring of tax related products for private and public offering. He has acted on a number of management and other leveraged buy-out transactions and private equity transactions. He has considerable experience in transactions on behalf of Canadian clients in Latin America and Asia. Mr. Forbes received his BA (Economics) and his LLB from the University of Western Ontario. He received his LLM from London School of Economics in England and was called to the Ontario bar in 1977. Mr. Forbes is the co-author of a number of books including Canadian Business Organizations law. He has taught courses in Contract Law, Corporate Finance, Commercial Law and Securities Regulation at a number of law schools in Ontario and Australia. | | | ISLN | 907345426 | |
