Bob Kelley advises clients on transactional real estate, construction and commercial contract matters. Since 1985, he has represented clients who were acquiring, permitting, developing, financing, constructing and leasing retail, commercial, industrial and multi-family residential property. Bob currently concentrates on transactional real estate leasing, development and acquisition matters for a Fortune 20 client.
Before Edwards Wildman
Prior to joining the firm, Bob was Senior Counsel and Real Estate Counsel at a Fortune 125 retailer and Of Counsel or Counsel at other Boston law firms where he:
•Negotiated more than 300 retail store, office and warehouse leases for more than six million square feet of space;
•Negotiated dozens of supply chain contracts and over 700 sales contracts with more than two billion dollars in aggregate annual sales;
•Provided business and compliance advice and due diligence for over 350 RFP responses;
•Provided post-acquisition real estate and contractual diligence and advice in connection with a ten billion dollar hostile takeover;
•Obtained zoning permits and site plan approval for a natural gas-fired power plant in southeastern Massachusetts; and obtained a site assignment for waste treatment facilities in the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts; and
•Negotiated and drafted the design and construction contracts and related documents for an office tower in Boston's financial district; nationally franchised hotels at Logan Airport and in Brookline, Massachusetts; an ambulatory care building at one of Boston's teaching hospital; a center for advanced medicine at another Boston teaching hospital; and apartment complexes in Watertown and Waltham, Massachusetts.
Bob taught property law, advanced landlord and tenant law, and conveyancing and mortgage law at three law schools. He is published in the area of landlord and tenant law, and he was the first full-time faculty member at Gonzaga University School of Law to win both of the school's teaching awards in the same year.
Bob was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer for several years beginning in 2005.

Bob serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Paul Cuffee Charter School in Providence.
Bob served on the Council of the Boston Bar Association and co-chaired its Real Estate Section. He currently serves on the Association's Education Committee.
He also served on the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts and chaired its Legislation Committee. He currently serves on the Association's Leasing Committee.
