Biography

Robert K. Jones is a Shareholder in the Phoenix, Arizona, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He represents employers in all types of employment litigation, including claims alleging discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination, as well as wage and hour disputes.

Mr. Jones has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and dispute resolution experience. He also advises and counsels employers on a wide variety of employment issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jones was a Partner of Quarles & Brady LLP (formerly Streich Lang, P.A.) where he was the Labor & Employment Group Coordinator. While at the firm, Mr. Jones was the Arizona group chair responsible for management of 17 group lawyers, three paralegals and assisted in chairing a national practice group consisting of more than 45 attorneys. Early in his career, Mr. Jones worked in the areas of trade secret and intellectual property protection including licensing and trademark work and patent litigation.

Recent Representative Matters

•Defense of numerous claims of employee discrimination, including lawsuits based on ADA/disability claims, Title VII and ADEA Recent trial victories in ADA cases, wage cases, FMLA cases and restrictive covenant cases
•Recent summary judgment victories in employment tort cases and Employment Protection Act cases
•Prepared and implemented multi-jurisdictional employment policies and procedures
•Drafting and reviewing executive and other employment contracts and compensation agreements
•Management training in prevention of harassment, retaliation, discrimination and avoidance of FMLA, FLSA and public policy claims
•Drafting employee restrictive covenants, enforcing and defending claims based on restrictive covenants and misappropriation of trade secrets
•Conduct administrative proceedings/audits before the DOL, NLRE, EEOC, ACRD, OFCCP AND DFEH
•Trial practice based on employee contracts, discrimination charges, retaliatory discharge, wage/hour issues and employee leave issues
•Conducted and/or supervised employee misconduct investigations and prepared recommendations on remedial action
•Day to day compliance and business counseling of employers in personnel actions, including reductions in force, hiring, firing, discipline, training and promotions
