Robert S. Downs serves as general or special counsel to various domestic and foreign-owned businesses. He advises them on entity formation, taxation, company and group organizational structures, employment and labor, contracts, acquisitions and mergers and other business law issues. He manages and supervises litigation and assists foreign-owned companies in obtaining U.S. visas for foreign personnel. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Downs was a leasing specialist and contracting officer with the United States General Services Administration. He has represented commercial landlords in leasing millions of square feet of commercial office and warehouse space to the United States Government. He won a commendation from President Jimmy Carter for improving the efficiency of U.S. government operations.
