Robert T. Grand serves as Managing Partner of the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP where he is a member of the Governmental Services & Finance Department. He concentrates his practice in the areas of public finance and governmental regulation. In the public finance area, he counsels State officials, county officials, and mayors on various aspects of bond financing issues and also assists them with many aspects of economic development initiatives. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Municipal Law. His governmental regulation practice includes the representation of public and private clients before State agencies. He also represents public and private clients before Federal agencies and the U.S. Congress. Mr. Grand is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He is also a former Chairman of the Governmental Practice Section of the Indiana State Bar Association. Mr. Grand graduated from Wabash College in 1978 and the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 1982. He is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana. Mr. Grand recently served on the Board of Directors of Outreach, Inc. (Chairman 2003-2004) and the Board of Directors for the Indiana Dollars for Scholars, and is currently on the Board of the William E. English Foundation and the Indianapolis Urban League. From 2008-2010, he served as President of the Capital Improvement Board of Marion County (CIB). He also serves on the Wabash College Board of Trustees and the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis Board of Visitors. He is an elder at Second Presbyterian Church. Mr. Grand served as administrative assistant to Lt. Governor Bob Orr (1979-1981) and then Governor Bob Orr (1981-1982). He is an advisor to many Indiana Republican Candidate Committees and was the Treasurer of Friends of Dick Lugar (1987-2007). He has also served as the Bush-Cheney Finance chairman for Indiana, was a member of the 2000 Bush-Cheney recount team in Palm Beach County, Fla., and served as a member of the Department of Justice Transition Advisory Committee. Mr. Grand is a former member of the Boards of the National Association of Wabash Men, Little Red Door/Marion County Cancer Society, Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Foundation (Chairman, 2000). He is also a former Vice President of Beta Theta Pi General Fraternity and past Chairman of the Beta Theta Pi Foundation.
