Practice/Industry Group Overview
The Construction Law attorneys at Roetzel & Andress help our clients address the fast-moving and oftentimes confrontational construction issues they face. Our attorneys create customized approaches and provide legal guidance through all phases of the construction process. We address our clients' rights and obligations from the beginning of each project, and assist clients in making key initial decisions such as creating the type of delivery method or handling competitive bidding by crafting the bid documents. We implement existing AIA contracts or develop customized construction contracts that are clear and concise for all parties involved. After the contracts are executed, we work with our clients to avoid disputes, handle all plans, specifications, and design changes, and decide the best strategy to implement when an unavoidable dispute or construction claim arises.
We represent private and public owners, developers, public entities, insurance companies, financial institutions, general and specialty contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, design professionals, engineers, and suppliers. Our group is involved in projects varying in size and scope, from single-family residences and recreational sports facilities to multi-million dollar commercial buildings and roadway structures. We have extensive experience managing projects involving architecture and construction of public works, heavy industrial complexes, malls, strip centers, power centers, lifestyle centers, mixed-use developments, and public institutions such as universities, hospitals, and museums.
