The multi-disciplinary team of attorneys from across the firm support clients' business needs by: keeping them apprised of key government and legislative developments; providing legal advice and strategic insight to help them adapt to complex economic changes; and identifying potential risks and opportunities presented by this new and rapidly changing regulatory environment.


 

Services Available

The Advisory Group works with firm clients to interpret and communicate the effects of our country's unique financial situation on the economy and their individual businesses through the following:

  • Banking & Finance attorneys will advise clients on best practices to mitigate financial credit risk and preserve liquidity, and will assist financial clients dealing with loan workouts and changes to the industry resulting from new legislation.
  • Bankruptcy/Creditors' Rights attorneys will help clients buy or sell distressed assets and will help buyers manage and liquidate those assets. Our attorneys utilize their experience in commercial transactions to develop customized strategies to protect our clients' rights and help determine the most appropriate course of action.
  • Real Estate attorneys will counsel clients regarding the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of real estate assets in the private and public sectors. For assets in default, our attorneys will help clients understand adjustments to foreclosure standards as well as any other changes that occur as a result of government relief policies.
  • Government Relations and Public Finance/Law attorneys and professionals will help clients understand the impact of new legislation addressing the financial crisis, identify their liabilities, utilize the new law to further their business interests and assist in making adjustments to credit, equity, and debt markets. Our Government Relations professionals in the firm's Washington, D.C. office work extensively with Congress and the Administration, and are prepared to advise clients and advocate on their behalf concerning legislation, policies and programs at the federal level.
  • Employment Services attorneys will help clients defend lawsuits by employees challenging their business practices, negotiating separation agreements, providing counsel with regard to termination decisions, employment contracts, separation agreements and other employment policies.
