Our International Trade attorneys provide a vast array of services related to trade disputes, export controls, customs laws and intellectual property law, as well as advising our clients in international business transactions, internet and on-line transactions, and negotiating and drafting international commercial documents and agreements.

Our attorneys understand the intricacies of advisory, compliance and enforcement issues related to export controls, sanctions programs, and licensing issues governed by the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, the Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.  Our attorneys represent clients in complex customs matters and investigations involving classification, valuation, country of origin marking, quota, substantial transformation, and drawback issues.

Representative Matters

  • Advised client of use of Section 337 and International Trade Commission to block unfair imports from the Far East.
  • Represented importers in litigation against Russian trading company in a case stemming from the former Soviet Union.
  • Represented Turkish manufacturers in major litigation concerning importation of firearms.
  • Assisted in establishing three companies in Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) in China.
  • Lead Counsel for transactions to provide telecommunication services with embargoed countries in the Middle East, pursuant to U.S. State Department regulations.
  • Represented several firearms manufacturers and importers in general export licensing and compliance services.
  • Represent foreign tobacco product manufacturers and importer on customs, and regulatory requirements related to the importation and sale of tobacco products.
  • Provided export license advice for exports to Libya, Syria and Dubai.
  • Represent multinational corporation in antidumping case against China on valves.
