Roetzel & Andress attorneys represent participants in all aspects of the construction and building materials industry, including public and private owners; developers, lenders; public entities; insurance companies; financial institutions; general and specialty contractors; construction managers; and design professionals, architects, and engineers. We also serve as counsel to building industry associations and workers' unions, as well as building material manufacturers and suppliers.
Roetzel & Andress is involved in construction projects varying in size and scope from single-family residences and recreational sports facilities, to multimillion dollar commercial and highway projects.
Representative Matters
- Represented a developer in the construction of a mixed-use project, combining residential, commercial and office development
- Represented a state entity in the construction of a highway project
- Represented a steel erection subcontractor in a dispute with a general contractor over construction of five national retail chain stores throughout the Midwest
- Represented a construction management firm in obtaining the dismissal of a wrongful death lawsuit. It was filed as a result of the electrocution death of a subcontractor's employee on a large commercial building project
- Defended a home improvement contractor from an Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act claim in connection with residential remodeling work performed
- Represented a large general contractor in a payment dispute with a public owner, involving the construction of a new municipal building
- Represent architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors about claims and disputes on public school, private school, and higher education construction projects
- Worked with a professional football team in the construction of its stadium
- Represented a construction workers' union when it was considering the purchase of a hotel and golf course that the then owner wanted to sell as a package
- Structured and negotiated the sale of controlling interest in a construction-related products manufacturer to a management group
- Structured and negotiated the sale of assets and related real estate owned by an iron and steel construction materials manufacturer and fabricator's subsidiary to its former management
